Dot NAME Domains

Set up in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level extension is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to order john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered third-level names remained working.

Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer key from the present domain registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no particular stipulations on who can purchase a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
